Software Engineering Practices and Applications

Objective and Motivation of this session:

Software Engineering is a systematic approach to the analysis, design, assessment, implementation, test, maintenance and reengineering of software, that is, the application of engineering to software. Skilled software engineers use technologies and practices from a variety of fields to improve their productivity in creating software and to improve the quality of the delivered product. This session provides a forum for researchers, practitioners and educators to present and discuss the most recent innovations, trends, experiences and concerns in the field of Software Engineering.

Scope and Interests:

Despite much advances in software engineering there are challenges/issues that need to be addressed in the areas of Historical Aspects, Economic Aspects, Maintenance Aspects,Requirements, Analysis, and Design Aspects and Team Development Aspects. These include, but not limited to, the following:

• Agile software development
• AI and knowledge based software engineering
• Application of Software Engineering in Industry and Commerce
• Computer supported cooperative work
