Mojtaba Shivaie was born and raised in Semnan, IRAN. He received 
the B.Sc. degree with first class honors in Electrical Engineering from 
the University of Semnan, Semnan, IRAN.
He also received the M.Sc. degree with first class honors and Ph.D. 
degree with first class honors both in Electrical Engineering from the 
Shahid Abbaspour College of Engineering, the University of Shahid 
Beheshti, Tehran, IRAN.
His research activities concentrate on studying transmission network 
expansion planning, competitive electricity markets analysis, electric 
power systems reliability, smart electrical grids applications, integrationof renewable energy resources and optimization methodologies.
