Short Biography
Francesco Marcelloni received the Laurea degree in Electronics Engineering and the Ph.D. degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Pisa in 1991 and 1996, respectively. From 1994 to 1995 and from June to December 1997 he was a visiting researcher at the University of Twente, the Netherlands, where he joined the TRESE project. Currently he is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Pisa, where he has co-founded the Computational Intelligence Group, and has founded in 2007 and currently heads the Mobile Value-Added Services Centre at the Department of Information Engineering.

His current research interests include multi-objective genetic algorithms, genetic fuzzy systems, fuzzy clustering algorithms, pattern recognition, neural networks, mobile information systems, and data compression and aggregation in wireless sensor networks. He is (co-)author of a book and more than 110 papers in international journals, book chapters and conferences.
