Short Biography
Dr. Daoud earned his Ph.D. from Virginia Tech in 1993; has taught Oracle Development, Query Optimization, Oracle Parallel Server, Oracle performance tuning, Java Server Pages (JSP) at PSUT, Petra University, and Isra University where he founded the ACM Jordan ISWSA chapter and the Research Bulletin of Jordan ACM (ijj.acm.org). Dr. Daoud has worked for Digital, Oracle, EMC and Network Appliance mainly on storage system for large Oracle databases. At Virginia Tech, he worked on automatic parallelization of scientific code using Parafrase on supercomputers like Alliant FX/8, Sequent, and Cray X-MP. Later he developed perfect hashing and order-preserving perfect hashing algorithms for fast storage and retrieval. Dr. Daoud completed a Masters in Telecommunication Engineering from University of Jordan in 1986; and BEng in Electrical Engineering from Yarmouk University in 1984.
