Short Biography
Ivan Zelinka (born 1965) is currently working at the Tomas Bata University in Zlin (UTB), Faculty of Applied Informatics (Czech Republic, www.fai.utb.cz) for 11 years. He graduated consequently at Technical university in Brno (1995 MSc.), UTB in Zlin (2001 Ph.D.) and again at Technical university in Brno (2004 assoc. prof.). Before academic carreer he was an employed like TELECOM technician, computer specialist (HW+SW) and Commercial Bank (computer and LAN supevisor). During his carreer at UTB he proposed and openned 7 kind of lectures. He also has been invited for lectures at 7 universities in different EU countries. He is responsible supervisor of grant ressearch of Czech grant agency GA R named Softcomputing methods in control, co-supervisor of grant FRV - Laboratory of parallel computing. He was also working on numerous grants and two EU project like member of team (FP5) and supervisor (FP7) of the Czech team.

Currently he is a head of Department of Applied Informatics and in total he has been supervisor of more than 20 MSc. and 17 Bc. diploma thesis. Ivan Zelinka is also supervisor of doctoral students including students from the abroad. He was awarded by Siemens Award for his Ph.D. thesis, as well as by journal Software news for his book about artificial intelligence. Ivan Zelinka is a member of British Computer Socciety, member of expert team of company DaySpring Global Multinational Inc., division Knowledge Management & Mining division, a few international programme committes of various conferences and three international journals (Associate Editor of MSE, Hindawi, Editorial Council of Security Revue, Editorial board - Journal of Computer Science, Riga, Latvia). He is author of journal articles as well as of 6 books in Czech and 7 chapters in 4 books in English language.
