Short Biography

Dr Shampa Chakraverty is Professor and Head of the Computer Eng Division at NSIT. She is B.E. (1983) in Electronics and Communication from Delhi College of Engineering (Delhi University), MTech in Integrated Electronics and Circuits (1992), IIT-Delhi and PhD in Computer Engineering from Delhi University.   

Shampa Chakraverty has 28 years of experience in the industry, in teaching and research. Her research interests are meta-heuristic based design exploration of multiprocessor embedded systems, reconfigurable computing, Context based Text Classification, database security and adaptive e-governance systems. She has to her credit around 60 publications in International Journals and Conferences, has authored 2 books and contributed to several Book chapters and Computer Based Training (CBT) Packages. She has delivered extensive lectures over the Edusat network and IGNOU and delivered keynote and guest lectures. She has provided technical consultancy to various organizations such as DRDO and Chartered Accountants of India.   

Prof Chakraverty was awarded the “ISTE RajaramBapu Patil National Award-2008” for Creative Work done in Technical Education in recognition of her outstanding contribution in the area of Innovations in Teaching, Development of Laboratories and Organization of  Workshops, Conferences and Continuing Education.
