| Short Biography |
I have received my MSc and PhD degrees in Applied Mathematics from the University of Wroclaw, Poland, and my DSc degree (habilitation) from the Institute of Computer
Science, Polish Academy of Sciences, Warsaw, Poland.
I am interested in all kinds of applications of statistical and pattern recognition methods
in real problems. My scientific interests include: algorithms of computational statistics
and multivariate analysis, in particular: graphical visualization of observational data, pattern recognition and neural networks. I have published in Polish several books on these topics.
I have also published -- in English, in international journals and international conference proceedings-- more than 200 papers on the mentioned topics.
Presently I am affiliated as Professor Emeritus in the Institute of Computer Science,
University of Wroclaw (lectures on Neural Network), and a lecturer in the Wroclaw High School of Applied Informatics (lectures on Pattern Recognition with Matlab). I am a Fellow of the Royal Statistical Society, London, also a member of AMS American Statistical Society, IBS (Int. Biometrical Society), IASC (Int. Society for Statistical for Statistical Computing), and ENNS (European Neural Network Society).
