Dr. Sabri Pllana is a senior research scientist at the Department of Scientific Computing, University of Vienna. He holds a PhD degree in computer science from the Vienna University of Technology. His current research interests include intelligent programming environments and performance-oriented software engineering for parallel and distributed systems. He is currently involved in several EU projects (including ANEURIST, ADMIRE, and MY SCIENCE). He has 16 years of IT-related industrial and academic working experience. He worked for both technical and management capacities of various international organizations (such as the United Nations or the World Bank Group). Dr. Sabri Pllana is member of the IEEE, member of the Networked European Software and Services Initiative (NESSI), and member of the DEVS Standardization Group that is sponsored by the Simulation Interoperability Standards Organization (SISO) and the Society for Modeling and Computer Simulation International (SCS). He has served the scientific community in the capacity of journal editor, or in the capacity of programme committee member or as a chair for numerous international conferences and workshops." |
