Short Biography
Seyed Mohammad Ashrafi received his B.Sc. degree in 2002 from Shahid Chamran University, Ahwaz, Khozestan, Iran, in Civil Engineering. He received his master’s degree in 2007 and his PhD degree in February 2013 in Civil Engineering (Water Resources Planning and Management) from K.N. Toosi University of Technology (KNTU), Tehran, Iran. A new and effective improved version of Harmony Search algorithm named Melody Search (MeS) has been proposed through his PhD thesis and applied to derive operation policy of multi-reservoir systems. Dr. Ashrafi is currently working as an assistant professor in department of civil engineering, faculty of engineering, Shahid Chamran University of Ahvaz. He is an expert in the field of Water Resources Engineering, and he is experienced in soft computing applications in engineering problems. His current interests (in the field of artificial intelligence) include heuristic optimization methods, multi-objective optimization, algorithm adaptation and applied artificial intelligence in water resources planning. He has the experience of teaching BSc, and MSc students of Civil Engineering as a faculty member since 2008.
