Zaher Al Aghbari received his B.Sc degree from the Florida Institute of Technology, Melbourne, USA, in 1987, and the M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in computer science from Kyushu University, Fukuoka, Japan, in 1998 and 2001, respectively.
He was with at the Department of Intelligent Systems, Kyushu University, Japan, from 2001 to 2003. From 2003 to 2008, he was with the Computer Science Department, University of Sharjah, UAE. Since 2008 he has been the Chairperson fo the Department of Computer Science, University of Sharjah, UAE. His research interests include multimedia databases, data mining, multidimensional indexing, distributed indexing, data streams management, image/video semantic representation and classification, and Arabic handwritten text retrieval. |
