Andrei Sukhov is Professor of Samara State Aerospace University, Russia. He received his PhD in Moscow, in Physics and Mathematics in 1993. In 2007 he received his Dr.Sc. degree in the area of computer networking at Moscow State University of Electronics and Mathematics. Over the last 15 years he has been involved in acting as an investigator for more then 10 telecommunication projects supported by the Russian government, INTAS, NATO, ESA, US Information Agency, etc. His research area is the quality of internet connection, including mathematical modeling of internet processes, backbone traffic, video and voice over IP, measurement systems of IP connection' quality, multimedia in mobile networks, etc. Some research projects have been made in collaboration with colleagues from Ohio Universities, HEAnet (Ireland), RIPE, GMD (Germany), etc.
Participation in telecommunication projects includes the construction of Samara Regional Network for Science and Education - the first Russian provincial network providing a digital connection to Moscow, the regional transport network at level STM16, etc. He was a founder of the biggest Regional ISP and an expert in the area of telecommunication investments in Russia.
