Dr. A.J. Umbarkar has received his Bachelor of Engineering (BE) in Computer Engineering from PICT, Pune in year 1999 and his Master of Engineering (ME) from Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) from WCE, Sangli in year 2002. He is PhD from Government College of Engineering; Aurangabad affiliated to Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, Aurangabad, MS, in year 2016.

Currently he is working as an Assistant Professor in Department of Information Technology at Walchand College of Engineering, Sangli, since 2004. He has worked in administration as head of the department for CSE at B.V.C.O.E. Kolhapur and IT department at W.C.E. Sangli.              He has filed three Patents and one trademark.  He has total 15 years of experience of teaching. He has published 19 papers in reputed (Science indexed and Scopus indexed) journal and 19 papers in national and international conferences. He is reviewer in one IEEE, Elsevier, Inderscience and many others journals in the area of soft computing and Engineering Optimization. He worked as program committee member as well as reviewer for many international conferences. (CICN 2010, chain, CSTN 2010, SocProS 2011 IIT Roorkee, WICT 2011, ICCAIE 2011,CICN 2012, CSTN 2012, NCMIRA2012, SocProS 2012, CNT2013, MIRA 2013, ICMIRA 2013, CICN 2015, COCNET2015, CAST 2016,  ICoIESE 2017, ICSCET 2018, ICCASP 2018, SOCTA2018, ICEECCOT-2019 etc.) He is professionally affiliated with many societies/organization/bodies/associations like ISTE, SCRS (Soft Computing Research Society), CSI (Computer Society of India), IET (Institution of Engineering and Technology),  ACCS (Advanced Computing & Communications Society), ACEEE (Association of Computer Electronics and Electrical Engineers), IACSIT (International Association of Computer Science and Information Technology), IAENG (International Association of Engineers), IDES (Institute of Doctors Engineers and Scientists membership)  and Machine Intelligence Research  Lab., USA. He is working as a member board of studies           (BOS) in IT for (Autonomous Institutes) Government College of Engg., Karad (Autonomous Institutes), Kolhapur Institute Technology, Kolhapur. His research interests are Parallel Evolutionary Algorithms, Engineering optimization, FOSS, Soft Computing, etc.
