Short Biography

Dr. Hemayed is currently working as an Associate Professor at Cairo University. He got his PhD from University of Louisville, KY in 1999. He got the Graduate Dean’s Citation Award in recognition of excellent achievement as a candidate for an advanced degree and the John M. Houchens Prize in recognition of excellent doctoral dissertation. He got his master and his B.Sc. from Cairo University in 1992 and 1989 respectively.

 

From 2007 to 2009, Dr Hemayed was working as an Assistant Professor at Cairo University.  From 2004 to 2007, Dr. Hemayed was working as an Assistant Professor of software engineering in the UAE University. From 1999 to 2005, Dr Hemayed was working in Trendium Inc, Florida in the area of software engineering and network performance. He occupied different levels in Trendium starting as a senior member of technical staff and finally as a VP of Technical Services and Solution Development and Member of the Corporate Executive Team.  He was awarded the year 2005 Trendium Pioneer in recognition of the contribution to the architecture of Trendium Products.  

 

He worked also as a Research Scientist Assistant in Cairo University, Egypt and University of Louisville, USA from 1989 to 1994 and from 1994 to 1999 respectively. Dr Hemayed is a member of IEEE and has been a regular reviewer of international conferences and journals. He has published over 40 papers. His research interest includes image processing, computer vision, computer graphics, and software and data engineering.
