Pere Marti-Puig is a telecommunications engineer and a PhD in Telecommunications Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC), in Spain. He is an assistant professor at the University of Vic (UVic) and currently teaches in the grades of Mechatronics Engineering and Industrial Electronics and Automation and in the Masters of Digital Technologies and Interactive Digital Information and Communication, at UVic. He is also participating in courses of Applied Statistics in the Autonoma University of Barcelona (UAB) and collaborates with the Open University of Catalonia (UOC) in consulting works. He is currently Coordinator of Digital Technologies Research Group at UVic being active in research topics in the field of digital signal processing applied to different areas.  He is working on image processing and 3D representations and is currently involved in research projects MICINN (Ref.CTM2010-19 701) and Interuniversity Scientific and Research Coperación Program (Ref. A2/036031/11). Among other topics has been devoted to the study and development of fast algorithms for discrete transforms.
