Short Biography

Habib M. Kammoun (IEEE Senior Member’15) received a PhD degree in computer science from the National Engineering School of Sfax (ENIS), University of Sfax, Tunisia. He is an Assistant Professor with the Department of Computer Science, Faculty of Sciences - University of Sfax, Tunisia. Habib is currently the head of the Virtual Education UVT Department at the University of Sfax.

Habib is member of the REGIM-Lab. (Research Groups in Intelligent Machines, University of Sfax, Tunisia) and member of the MIR Labs (Machine Intelligence Research Labs, USA). His research interests include soft computing, computational intelligence, intelligent transportation systems, and smart cities. Habib is a program committee member within IEEE conferences and journals.

Habib is the past secretary of the IEEE Africa Council, past chair of IEEE Tunisia section, member of the Computational Intelligence Society chapters’ committee, member of the IEEE Nominations and Appointment committee, and volunteer in several other IEEE committees. He organized several IEEE international conferences and he received IEEE awards; recently the 2018 IEEE Region 8 Volunteer Award, 2016 IEEE MGA Outstanding large section award, 2015 IEEE R8 Outstanding large section award, 2014 IEEE R8 Young Professionals Exceptional Volunteer award, and 2013 IEEE Volunteer Leadership Training award.
