Mete Eminağaoğlu graduated from the department of computer engineering, Ege University, Turkey in 1996. He received his M.Sc. degree in 1999 at the department of computer engineering, Izmir Institute of Technology, Turkey. The name of his MSc Thesis was "Genetic Algorithmic Approach to the Differential & Linear Cryptanalysis of Symmetric Cryptosystems". Mete Eminağaoğlu finished his PhD in 2011 at the department of computer engineering, Trakya University in Turkey. His PhD thesis is entitled as "A Proposed Model for Qualitative Information Security Risk Assessment using Machine Learning".

Mete Eminağaoğlu has worked in private sector for fourteen years as manager, auditor and consultant in several areas of information security and IT governance. He currently works as Assist. Prof. Dr. at the department of Software Engineering, Faculty of Engineering in Yaşar University, Turkey. His main research areas are information security risk assessment, machine learning, data mining, information security management and cryptology in which he has several international publications.
