Short Biography

Prof.  Mohamed Limam is currently Professor at the University of Tunis.  He received an MSc (1981) and Ph.D (1984) in Statistics from Oregon State University, USA. 

 

He started his career as a Professor at King Saud University in 1985.  Then, he moved back to Tunisia, where he started a series of top management positions in academia and research. First, he served as a Dean of the Management Institute of Tunisia of the University of Tunis, then, Director of the Technology Park of Borj Cedria, Director General of International Cooperation in the Tunisian Ministry of Higher Education, and Chief of staff of the Ministry of Scientific Research. Since 2007, he is designated as the Vice President of the University of Tunis in charge of academic affairs and scientific research. He never quitted teaching and supervising Master and PhD theses.

 

Mohamed’s key qualifications are in the area of applied and computational statistics, Data Mining, Statistical Quality Control and Quality Management. 

 

He is the author of many research studies published in the Journal of the American Stat. Association, Machine Learning, Communications in Statistics, Quantitative Finance, Computer and Industrial Engineering, International Journal of Production Research, Quality and Reliability Engineering International, Chemometrics and Intelligent Laboratory Systems, Remote sensing letters, Bio Data Mining, Bioinformation. He is a co-founder of the Tunisian Management Science Society, and founder of the Tunisian Association of Statistics and its Applications.

 

He is a member of the Editorial Board of the International Journal of Quality and Standards.  He is the head of the Laboratory of Operations Research Decision and Control of Processes (LARODEC),  the Founder and President of the Tunisian Association of Statistics and its Applications and co-founder of the Tunisian Management Science Society.
