| Short Biography |
| Suhail Sami Owais is currently an Associate Professor at the Department of Computer Science, Faculty of Information Technology, Applied Science University, Amman, Jordan. He received his Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from the VSB Technical University of Ostrava, Czech Republic, 2006. He has two book chapters, and over twenty articles and conference/journal. Dr. Owais's current research interests include information retrieval systems, genetic algorithms, genetic programming, fuzzy logic, query optimization and search engines. Dr. Owais's participate as an evaluator of research proposals submitted to the Iraq Research and Development Initiative round 3 (IRDI 3), 2010. And he participate as program committee member for the following conferences: the 1st IEEE International on the Application of Digital Information and Web Technologies (Co-sponsored by IEEE) (ICADIWT 2008), the 7th Computer Information Systems and Industrial Management Applications (CISIM 2008), the 4th International Conference on Digital Information Management (ICDIIM 2009), the 8th International Conference on Computer Information Systems and Industrial Management Applications (CISIM 2009), the 1st International Workshop on Security and Communication Networks (IWSCIN 2009). And also participate as program committee member for the 1st International Workshop Evolutionary Techniques in Data-Processing, Held in collocation with DEXA 2007, Ostrava, Czech Republic. Dr. Owais's participate as membership of university committees as follows: as chairman of the Curriculum Committee, Information Technology College, Applied Science University, Amman, Jordan, 2010. As member of the Graduation Project Committee, Information Technology College, Applied Science University, Amman, Jordan, 2008, 2009. As external examiner committee member for Ph.D. thesis, Arab Academy for Business and Financial Sciences, Amman, Jordan, 2010. And as member of the faculty committee, Information Technology College, Applied Science University, Amman, Jordan, 2008, 2009. And as member of the faculty committee, Ajloun University College, AL-Balqa` Applied University, Ajloun, Jordan, 2006, 2007, 2008. |
