Short Biography
Lior Rokach is a senior lecturer and the director of the Intelligent Systems Lab at the Department of Information Systems Engineering of Ben Gurion University of the Negev, Beer Sheva, Israel. He is a recognized expert in intelligent information systems, and served in several leading positions in this field. His research interests are in data mining, pattern recognition, information retrieval, machine learning and their applications in medicine, engineering, information security and e-commerce.

Dr. Rokach is the author of over 70 refereed papers in leading journals (e.g. Data Mining and Knowledge Discovery, IEEE Transactions on Knowledge and Data Engineering (TKDE) and Pattern Recognition), conference proceedings and book chapters. , In addition he has also authored six books including ''Pattern Classification Using Ensemble Methods'' (World Scientific Publishing, 2010), ''Data Mining with Decision Trees'' (World Scientific Publishing, 2008) and''Decomposition Methodology for Knowledge Discovery and Data Mining'' (World Scientific Publishing, 2005) . Dr. Rokach is also the editor of ''The Data Mining and Knowledge Discovery Handbook'' (Springer, 2005), ''Soft Computing for Knowledge Discovery and Data Mining'' (Springer,2007) and ''Recommender Systems Handbook'' (Springer, 2010). Lior Rokach received the PhD degree in industrial engineering from Tel-Aviv University.
