| Short Biography |
| Dr. Rahmat Widyanto received the B.Sc. in Computer Science from the University of Indonesia in 1998, the M.Eng. and the Dr.Eng. in Computational Intelligence from the Tokyo Institute of Technology, Japan in 2003 and 2006, respectively. He is currently a Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Computer Science, University of Indonesia. Before that, he was a Research Associate at Department of Systems Science, Tokyo Institute of Technology and a Visiting Researcher at Department of Applied Information Sciences, Tohoku University, Japan. His research interests include multimedia understanding & analysis, fuzzy theory, soft computing,and machine learning. Dr . Widyanto is the Secretary General of the Indonesia Society for Soft Computing (SC-INA). He is a program chair of IFSA-AFSS 2011 (International Fuzzy Systems Association - World Congress and Asian Fuzzy Systems Society International Conference) which will be held in Indonesia. He is also a Program Committee Member of FUZZ-IEEE 2011 (IEEE International Conference on Fuzzy Systems) which will be held in Taiwan. Dr. Widyanto has received a number of awards including the International Conference on Soft Computing & Intelligent Systems (SCIS`02) Excellent Presentation Award in Tsukuba Japan2002, the International Symposium on Advanced Intelligent Systems (ISIS`05) Outstanding Paper Award in Yeosu South Korea 2005, International Workshop on Advanced Computational Intelligence and Intelligent Informatics (IWACIII'09) Excellent Presentation Award in Tokyo Japan 2009, and the University of Indonesia Best Researcher Award in 2009. Dr. Widyanto is an Associate Editor of International Journal of Advanced Computational Intelligence and Intelligence Informatics published by Fuji Press-Tokyo, Japan. He has been a reviewer for some referred international journals, e.g., IEEE Trans. on Systems, Man, and Cybernetics, IEEE Trans. on Industrial Electronics, Elsevier Applied Soft Computing, and Elsevier Fuzzy Sets & Systems. |
