Short Biography

Presently, I am working as an Professor of Computer Science & Engineering. I teach subjects in the areas of System Software, Data Structures & Algorithms, Programming Concepts & Languages, Internet & Web Technology and Embedded Systems. For me, teaching is a continuous learning process and I feel proud to be in this profession.

I completed my under graduate programme (BE) with distinction in Computer Engineering from Mangalore University in July 1999. After graduation, I joined Karnataka Regional Engineering College (KREC) as Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Computer Engineering. I qualified GATE 2001 with a percentile score of 83.00 (AIR 973) and joined post graduation course (MTech) in Computer Science & Engineering (CSE) at KREC in July 2001.  After completion of MTech course with distinction in December 2002 from NITK, I joined back to the Computer Engineering Department of NITK as a teaching staff. On August 2003, I shifted the location of work to SJEC as a Senior Lecturer & HOD of Computer Science & Engineering Department. I was promoted as Assistant professor in September 2004. I joined the Department of IT, NITK for doctoral studies in July 2006. After completion of my PhD programme in July 2009, I joined CSE department as an Associate Professor & HOD. In October 2010, NITK provisionally awarded the PhD degree in Information Technology for my thesis titled “A Broker Based Architecture for Dynamic Web Services Discovery, Selection and Compositions”.

My research area includes Web services, Distributed computing and Internet technologies. I have published 5 International journal papers and 24 research articles in reputed International Conferences which are archived at IEEE/ACM/Springer digital libraries and DBLP.

Apart from academics, I am passionate about playing Badminton, code applications (programming), watch current political affairs and read technical articles from reputed magazines (digital libraries).

I am honored by “MARQUIS Who’sWho in the World” which has listed me in “Who’sWho in the word 2011 (28th Edition). I have received a travel grant from AICTE to present a research paper at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in the year 2008. The VTU has selected me as Coordinator in 2010 for a research and development (R & D) project of for the period of THREE years to carryout research in the area of e-Learning Web services. The VTU has selected me as coordinator to organize workshops in the areas of Web Technology and SOA for the year 2010 & 2011.

I have the life membership of ISTE and I have been working as BOE/BOS member for the courses MCA/Msc/Msc(IT) of autonomous degree colleges. I have delivered number of lectures/keynotes at MHRD/AICTE/VTU sponsored workshops held at NITK, NMAMIT and SIT Mangalore.
