| Short Biography |
| Thanga Raj Chelliah obtained his Diploma Eng. from Government Polytechnic College, Nagecoil, India, B.Eng. from Coimbatore Institute of Technology, India, M.Eng. from Anna University, India and Ph.D. degree from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee, India (all in Electrical Engineering) in 1996, 2002, 2005 and 2009 respectively. From 1996 to 2002, he was with Haitima Textiles Limited, Coimbatore, as an Assistant Electrical Engineer. While there, he was involved in energy conservation activities in the electrical equipments. His areas of interest include energy efficiency in industrial motors, hydroelectric power system optimization and protection. At present he is doing his post doctoral research with Prof. Juergen Sachau, University of Luxembourg. Thanga Raj Chelliah is a member of IEEE and he has published 21 research papers in various journals and conferences of national and international repute. He received a cash award for his article on " ombined Heat and Power Systems" from the Bureau of Energy Efficiency, India and Ph.D fellowship and travel grants from the Ministry of Human Resource and Development, Government of India . |
