| Fernando J. Von Zuben is currently the head of the Laboratory of Bioinformatics and Bioinspired Computing (http://www.lbic.fee.unicamp.br). He received his PhD in Electrical Engineering in 1996 from the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering, State University of Campinas (Unicamp), SP, Brazil. He is currently an Associate Professor at the Department of Computer Engineering and Industrial Automation, Unicamp. The main topics of his research are computational intelligence, bioinspired computing, multivariate data analysis (particularly devoted to bioinformatics), and machine learning. He coordinates open-ended research projects in these topics, tracking real-world problems through interdisciplinary cooperation. |
