Short Biography
Dr. Nashwa El-Bendary received her M.Sc. degree in 2004 and Ph.D. degree in 2008, both in Information Technology from the Faculty of Computers and Information, Cairo University, Egypt.

Currently, she is an assistant professor at the Arab Academy for Science, Technology, and Maritime Transport (AASTMT), Cairo, Egypt. She has published several papers in major peer-reviewed international conference proceedings. Her main research interests are in the areas of ambient intelligent environments and smart systems, intelligent water quality monitoring, body sensor networks and intelligent health monitoring, smart reading environments, routing and security in wireless sensor networks and mobile ad hoc networks, smart structural health monitoring systems, social networks, artificial immune systems, and biometrics. She currently advises a number of master and PhD students. She is also leading and supervising various graduation projects.

Dr. Nashwa is a member of the editorial boards of the International Journal of Sensor Networks and Data Communications (IJSNDC) and the International Journal of Swarm Intelligence and Evolutionary Computation (IJSIEC). She has also been a reviewer, technical program committee member, local arrangement committee member, special session co-chair, and has been invited as a speaker to several international conferences.
