Dr. Arun Sharma completed his PhD Degree from Thapar University, Patiala in 2009. Prior to this, he did M. Tech. (CSE) from Punjabi University, Patiala in 1997 and M.Sc. (Applied Mathematics) from University of Roorkee (now IIT Roorkee) in 1994. Having vast teaching experience of approx 20 years in various reputed Govt. and Pvt. Institutions; currently he is working as Deputy Dean (Examination Affairs) and Associate Professor - IT at Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University for Women (IGDTUW), Delhi. He is also having the additional responsibilities as Director – Incubation Centre at IGDTUW.

His areas of interests include Software Engineering, Autonomous Systems, Soft Computing and Big Data. Under his guidance, 6 students have completed their PhD degree. He has published more than 60 papers in international journals and conferences including IEEE, ACM, Springer, Elsevier, Wiley and several others. His total google citation count has reached 500. Dr. Sharma is a Senior Member of IEEE and Life Member of Computer Society of India and is actively involved in various activities of these societies. He has been the Chairman of Computer Society of India (CSI) - Ghaziabad Chapter for 2015-16 and Executive Committee Member – IEEE Delhi Section for 2016-17. He has organized six International Conferences as General Chair/Conference Secretary and delivered Key Note Addresses, Invited Talks in various UGC Refresher Courses, Conferences and others. He is also on the panel of Experts and member of Board of Studies for various reputed Universities and institutions.

He has been nominated for World’s Who’s Who by Marquis, USA in 2013.
