Short Biography |
Dr. D.K. Chaturvedi, is working in Dept. of Elect. Engg, Faculty of Engg, D.E.I., Dayalbagh, Agra since 1989. Presently he is Professor. 1. He did his B.E. from Govt. Engineering College Ujjain, M.P. then he did his M.Tech. and Ph.D. from D.E.I. Dayalbagh. 2. He is gold medalist and received Young Scientists Fellowship from DST, Government of India in 2001-2002 for post doctorial research at Univ. of Calgary, Canada. 3. Also he had research collaboration with different organizations at national and international level. 4. He is the fellow member of The Institution of Engineers (India), Fellow of Aeronautical Society of India, Fellow IETE, Sr. Member IEEE, USA and Member of many National and International professional bodies such as IET, U.K., ISTE, Delhi, , ISCE, Roorkee, IIIE, Mumbai and SSI etc. 5. The IEE, U.K. recognized his work in the area of Power System Stabilizer and awarded honorary membership to him in 2006. 6. His areas of research are of Power Systems, control systems, Modeling and Simulation of systems. The Institution of Engineers (India), Kolkata, recognized his work and conferred many award like Best Paper Award, Tata Rao Medal Award, U.P. State Power Sector Award and Masudi Lal Award etc. ADRDE lab of DRDO conferred him life time achievement award for his valuable contributions in field of aeronautics. He is the consultant of DRDO. 7. He did many R&D projects of MHRD, UGC, AICTE etc. and consultancy projects of DRDO. He contributed in the national mission of ICT of Govt. of India as Virtual Power Lab Developer. 8. He organized many National workshops, symposium and short term courses. He had also introduced a core course at M.Tech. Level on Professional Ethics and Moral Values. 9. He
had edited a book on Theology, Science
and Technology: Ethics and Moral Values published by Vikas Publisher, 10. He authored three books on soft computing, Springer,Germany Modeling and Simulation of Systems, CRC Press, New York and Electrical Machines, Univ. Scientific Press, New Delhi. 11. He Contributed chapters in many edited books and lecture notes in Springer Lecture Series. 12. He has guided 10 Ph.Ds, 56 M.Tech. Dissertations and published more than 210 International and National Papers. He has chaired and Co-Chaired many International and National Conferences. 13. He is referee of many International Journals including IEE Proceedings and IEEE Transactions. 14. He worked as Convener, Faculty Training and Placement Cell, D.E.I. and Advisor, IEI Students’ Chapter (Elect. Engg.). 15. In the social field also he has valuable contribution and holds many positions such as Hon. Secretary, Agra Social Welfare Society; Founder member of Agra Science Forum, Executive committee Member of System Society of India, Agra Chapter and Investigator; Bio-Medical Research Project. He was Chairman, Summer School of Agra city.

Prof. Chaturvedi and his team developed a virtual
lab in the area of electrical power systems under the initiative of MHRD, Govt.
of India. The purpose of this lab is to help the students of engineering
colleges where quality labs/staff not available or wants to do engineering
