Short Biography
Surya Prasath is an assistant professor in the Computer Science Department at the University of Missouri. He received his PhD in Mathematics, under the supervision of Professor Arindama Singh, from the Indian Institute of Technology Madras, India in 2009. He has been a postdoctoral fellow at the Department of Mathematics, University of Coimbra, Portugal, for two years. Since 2012 he is with the CiVA Lab working on various image processing and computer vision problems. He had summer internships/visits at Kitware, The Fields Institute, Canada, and IPAM, UCLA. His main research interests include regularization methods for inverse & ill-posed problems, optimization, variational, PDE based image processing, and computer vision with applications in remote sensing, bio-medical imaging, and biometrics domains.
